Pistol Shrimp is all about portraying the role of music in our generational context, once it holds a fundamental place in the transmission of values and sociocultural behaviours among the youngsters such as ourselves.
While facing an environment where communication between different generations is often blurred by a lack of understanding towards the digital culture and its ideals, we found it appropriate not to make a documental or journalistic work, but rather to focus on the audio-visual production practice inside open source virtual communities.
Therefore, our ambitions lie in a proactive role as a record label, responsible for the curatorship, production and distribution of contents in the web and the creation of events where the focus is both the interactive counterpart and the active role of the spectator in the creation of real time contents in collaboration with the members and the artists of our label.
